Chateau Bellenau is situated in the heart of the beautiful countryside, about 40 minutes from the port of Cherbourg near the East coast of la Manche, Normandy. We have six self-catering holiday rental apartments (or in Normandy, gites), a charming folly vacation rental cottage and 2 gipsy caravans set within 9 acres of unique 19th Century landscaped gardens. These rental apartments are in converted barns, some dating back to the 15th century, set around a communal courtyard adjacent to this holiday rental chateau. The market town of Carentan is 5 minutes drive away, and has a good variety of shops, supermarkets, cafes and restaurants, as well as a vibrant market on Monday mornings. There are many fetes and fairs and bric-a-brac sales throughout the year, to give you a taste of local life. Nearby sporting and leisure activities nearby include: tennis; swimming; golf; clay pigeon shooting; horse & donkey riding; canoeing; wind and kite surfing; sailing and land yachting; birdwatching; fishing; walking.
