The pictures don't do it justice!

We had a wonderful experience with this property. We stayed for a week, but wish we could have stayed a month. The owners were wonderful to work with before, during and after our stay. The owners answered our pre-booking questions promptly and completely. They were available if we needed any assistance. (They were even going to stay up past midnight to make sure we did not have any problems getting into the house. Luckily for them, our flight was delayed to the next day!) The house itself was beautiful! The views are spectacular! From almost every room you could see the Sound. The house is well-maintained, clean, comfortable and well-stocked. The welcome basket was a very thoughtful touch. We had two children with us- 3 & 7; they had no trouble manuevering, and we did not have to worry about them hurting themselves or anything in the house. The stairs sounded a bit daunting in the description, but were not for any of the three generations staying there. We found the location to be perfect. You feel like you are in a forested hideaway with breathtaking views. The location was close enough to spend the day in Tacoma or Seattle, but charming enough to spend the day enjoying the property or locally in town. Chamber's Bay Golf Course is literally minutes down the road. The kids liked the parks nearby and digging on the beach. The ferry was close by. There are grocery stores located close enough to be convenient, but not so close to take away the quiet feeling. We enjoyed the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Tacoma. It is small and compact, but there was a good bit to see. It's perfect for smaller kids. Don't miss the Ballard Locks either; it can be tricky to get to, but it was well worth the trip to north Seattle. We also like eating at Joeseppi's in Tacoma- so much we ate there two days in a row! We will certainly stay here next time we are visiting Seattle and would highly recommend the property to anyone!

Japanese visitors - translated review

Since I live in a small apartment and hear some noise all the time, I enjoyed the large space and the quietness. They made me forget the busy hour and work in Japan. 2) The view is wonderful and the air is clean. I can’t describe how beautiful the view is. 3) I enjoyed staying there with my family. Since there are three stories in the house, we can keep our privacy and keep a good distance from each other. 4) I could use the internet, which was helpful. 5) If the house was away from your house, I would have felt lonely and couldn’t relax. Since I could see your house from the window, I felt so relaxed and safe.

Amazing Sunsets and Wildlife

The house was very well furnished, quiet and spacious with an amazing view of the Puget Sound. My family enjoyed the nearby park on the sound and the city of Stilicoomb was delightful. We were amazed by the range of wildlife that ventured through the yard in the mornings and evenings including many sighting of deer and rabbits. The house was very well kept and clean with a well sized kitchen to serve my family of 6. Overall, the house was well furnished and had adequate beds for my rather large family. The driveway provides an adventure as it is a steep grade that levels into a nice parking area, but it is an easy trade off for the spectacular view. The location made day trips to Mt. Ranier, Mt. St. Helens and Seattle very enjoyable while providing us a quiet evenings watching the sun set behind the Olympics. I would recommend this house for large families or romantic getaways.

Incredible Views!

This house was designed so every room has a fabulous view of the Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. We were fortunate enough to stay over the fourth of July and view the town's fireworks display which was set off directly below on the water. Sunnyside Beach offers a nice playground for children and a beach volleyball court. The house has a large fully-furnished kitchen to prepare meals and a grocery store just down the street. The beds were very comfortable. Having laundry facilities on site was a great bonus. We plan on returning in the future to once again enjoy this terrific place.

Holiday House a Hit

My family stayed in this fantastic get-away for one week in July; we were amazed by the fantastic water-view; sun-rises and sets; the morning visits by a family of deer in the fern grotto below the deck. Very comfortable, clean - huge showers / baths; all of it readily accessible to downtown Tacoma and Olympia. Plenty of room to just day-dream or watch a movie on any of the many TV's sprinkled throughout the place: a true retreat! This comes from a couple who regularly stay at bed-and-breakfasts in Port Townsend, etc.
