Originally from Mexico City, I was born into a family of medical professionals. My siblings and I were fortunate to travel often with our parents and after graduating from college Argentina, Peru, and Brazil were destinations I called my home away from home. In 1990 I made one of several repeat visits to the U.S. and decided to make Long Beach my home. I am a Long Beach business owner and I enjoy frequent visits from my grandchildren and love travel, food and new experiences. Long Beach welcomed
We found the accommodation to be sparking clean and inviting for our stay. 99% of amenities were available, the only thing missing was an ironing board, not crucial. Comfy bed, all linen, great shower, well fitted kitchen. there was a TV, but we never used it. Good comunication from our host and great flexibility on our departure.
We stayed here for a week with our kids; it was central to Universal Studios, Disneyland, the aquarium, and Huntington Beach. It's a cozy place to rest and clean up for the next day's adventure. It's also very secure; we felt very safe. Great coffee at the Bird Cage coffee house, within walking distance.
This property was literally PERFECT!
This is a fantastic location at a very affordable prices for downtown Long Beach. The dedicated parking place makes a big difference as well as the locked, gated entry. Emma was always available, and responded immediately to our needs. The downside was that we contacted Emma with issues on a daily basis. Usually it didn't matter a whole lot. I'm writing this because I have read the same things in other reviews, and wish to encourage Emma to step up her game. The two bedroom home was VERY nice and VERY clean. We arrived late Saturday after 9:00 Pm to find there were only sheets and towels for two people. I made it clear we were traveling with a family of four. Emma was able to get us sheets and towels within less than an hour. By that time, it was 1:00 AM on our body clock since we flew in from the east. So, the hurry to get towels was great, but not timely. In the morning the hot water went out, which it did twice more during the week we were there. It turns out that there is problem with a brand new water heater she had installed a couple months previously. I'm sure this will be fixed, and Emma even took extra time to show me how I could reset it if it failed again. That was wonderful sine it did it twice more. I can live with that easily. It shows air conditioning. However, the air conditioner wouldn't cool a car. We just used it for noise. Air is not really common in that part of California. Just open the windows, which we did, to the wonderful sounds of children screaming, etc. That's not Emma's fault or control. I walked for two miles around the area and didn't see air conditioners...it's just part of the culture there...so be ready. We found plenty of cookware. It was in multiple places. I found a lot of cook ware in the oven when I pre-heated it for a pizza. I suggest they centralize and things, and label the drawer and cupboards. There are no drink cups. There are stem wine glasses we used...but 8oz cups would be much nicer. There is only one coffee cup. So, even though there is a coffee maker, only one person could drink coffee at a time. It is interesting that this area gets cold at night. We would go to bed hot, and wake up freezing in the middle of the night. Emma brought us blankets after our first night, and it was wonderful. I suggest leaving blankets at the house. The Clothes Iron works great, but we had to iron on a table using a towel.
The place is comfy and in a great area accessible to so many parts of LBC. Really nice!
The place was clean and had the amenities listed. Emma was prompt when we had questions and dealt with issues straight away. We stayed there with my daughter and her friend (18 yrs old) and they were safe to wander the neighbourhood after dark. My recommendations would be for some additional kitchen wear such as pots and some mugs/glassware. I would also recommend a key for the back gate where the parking spot is so you don't have to walk all the way around to the front gate after parking. Overall we really liked the place and will definitely return again in the future.
