Welcome to Stony Brook Cabin located near historic Valle Crucis!
If you've been looking for a place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, you've found the right mountain cabin. Stony Brook Cabin offers 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, amazing wood burning fireplace, HDTV with NETFLIX (no cable or no local channels), wireless internet PLUS it is pet friendly!! However, this cabin does not have air conditioning but it is surrounded by nature and great shade trees!. You'll especially enjoy sitting, relaxing and rocking your cares away on our covered front porch.
Our cabin is pet friendly. However, there is a separate pet fee for each pet. If bringing your four-legged family member, please ensure that you did pay the pet fee on your reservation by contacting management at High Mountain Cabin Rentals.
Main Floor: You'll find the living room with the wood burning fireplace, kitchen, dining area, full bathroom, bedroom with full size bed all on the main floor. The living room has a new flat screen TV with cable.
Upstairs: There is a bedroom with a queen size bed, full bathroom with tub/shower combo, a private balcony and a loft area with a futon as well.
Outside: Enjoy Mother Nature along with our fire pit, charcoal grill, table with extra seating on the back deck, nice yard and covered front porch with rocking chairs. There is also a small stream along the side of the property that has soothing and calming sounds.
At Stony Brook Cabin, we believe that nobody should be left behind. We will allow you to bring your four-legged family member (with approval) with you for a one time nonrefundable pet fee of $50 for pets weighing less than 40 pounds and a $75 fee for pets weighing more than 41 pounds. Isn't it wonderful that for once you won't have to wonder how your best friend is doing in the kennel "back home"? Service dogs are always welcomed.

The Mast General Store and Annex in Valle Crucis is only about 3.5 miles or less than 10 minutes away.
Sugar Mountain Ski Resort is about an 8 mile or 20 minute drive.
Hawksnest Snow Tubing and Zipline is around 12.5 miles or 25 minutes from the cabin.
The Great Foscoe Mining Company (gem mining) is about 7.5 miles or less than 20 minutes.
Foggy Mountain Gem Mining in Boone is about 8 miles or less than 25 minutes.
Tweetsie Railroad is about 14.5 miles/30 minutes from the cabin.
Appalachian Ski Mountain is located about 15 miles or 40 minutes away in Blowing Rock.
Appalachian State University is around 14 miles or less than 25 minutes from the cabin.
2 night minimum for off peak seasons
3 night minimum for Labor Day, Memorial Day and the entire month of October (leaf season)
4 night minimum for the week of Thanksgiving
7 night minimum for the July 4th week and the Christmas/New Year holiday
Check in time is 4:00 pm and check out time is 11:00 am
NO SMOKING is allowed in any of our rentals!
As you plan your trip to the mountains, please remember we do get rain, snow/ice and some foggy days and occasional inconveniences which are out of our control. Winter weather in the Blue Ridge Mountains can occur from November through April. The majority of our rental homes are accessed by mountain roads, which could be icy and treacherous in the winter. This means 4-wheel drive, good tires and possible chains are necessary during the winter months. It is YOUR responsibility to be prepared for hazardous road conditions. There will be NO REFUNDS, allowances or date changes resulting from your negligence in this matter.
