Bear Paws is a custom 3,500 sq. ft. Jim Barna Log Home with serene mountain views situated on 3 acres and offers 3 private bedrooms and 4 and half bathrooms. We are located only minutes to the quaint town called West Jefferson, NC with easy paved access.
MAIN FLOOR: Once you walk in, you’ll be taken away with the beauty of our home. There are many, many luxurious upgrades throughout our home, high-end brand name appliances such as WOLF 4 burner with griddle gas stove/oven, MIELE dishwasher, SUBZERO side by side refrigerator with ice/water dispenser. Granite counter tops in the kitchen and bathrooms. The kitchen is well-appointed with most everything you will need to prepare your gourmet meal for everyone.
The dining area offers seating for 6 with views of the mountains. The living room offers a reclining couch, 2 rocking/reclining chairs, gas fireplace (seasonal), and a large 50” flat screen Smart TV.
The spacious master suite boasts a very comfortable king size bed, a corner gas fireplace, a recliner and an En Suite luxurious full bathroom with a whirlpool tub, his/her sinks, a sauna, and an indulgent walk-in shower with multiple shower heads.
UPPER FLOOR: There are 2 private bedrooms with queen beds on the upper floor. Each bedroom has an En Suite full bathroom. One bedroom has a tiled walk-in shower and the other bathroom has a tub/shower combo. Each bedroom has its own heating/cooling system for your own comfort level.
LOWER LEVEL: The lower level offers a full size sleeper sofa (NOTE: we do NOT endorse sleeper sofas/futons for any guests over 12 years of age due to the comfort factors), an electric fireplace, HD TV, PlayStation 4 which acts as a Blu-ray DVD player, air hockey, Foosball, and a card/game table.
OUTSIDE: You will enjoy spending quality time outside on our large deck. The deck is covered just outside the dining area with a table with chairs and a gas grill. There is also other seating on the deck to enjoy the views and the sounds of Mother Nature. After a LONG day of enjoying the Blue Ridge Mountains, you can come back and soak in our amazing 5-6 person hot tub under the covered deck on the lower level.
PETS: At Bear Paws, we believe that nobody should be left behind. We will allow yout to bring yoru well behaved four-legged family member. The nonrefundable one-time pet fee of $75 per dog (30 pound weight limit). Isn't it wonderful that for once you won't have to wonder how your best friend is doing the kennel back home?
You are clsoe to all of the High Country amenites such as Mount Jefferson State Natural Area, New River State Park, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Ashe Cheese Factory, Ashe Civic Center, the Farmers Market, local resturants, shopping, St. Mary's Church of the Frescoes, famous Christmas in July in downtown West Jefferson, and so much more. Boone and Blowing Rock is approximately 35-45 minutes away.
2 night minimum for off peak season (sorry, NO 1 night rentals permitted)
3 night minimum for some holidays and the entire month of October
4 night minimum for the Thanksgiving holiday
7 night minimum for the July 4th week and Christmas/New Year holidays
Check in time is 4:00 PM or after
Check out time is 11:00 AM or sooner
No check outs on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day
As you plan your trip to the mountains, please remember we do get rain, snow and some foggy days and occasional inconveniences which are out of our control. Winter weather in the Blue Mountains can occur from November through April. The majority of our homes are accessed by mountain roads which will be icy in winter weather. For the safety of you and your party, please be prepared to drive in snow and ice. This means 4-wheel drive/AWD, good tires and chains may be necessary. It is YOUR responsibility to be prepared for hazardous road conditions. There will be NO REFUNDS, allowances or date changes resulting from your negligence in this matter.
