High Places is a luxurious retreat that offers majestic and stunning year-round views of the North Carolina mountains. Located in the heart of nature and tranquility, this mountain cabin is perfect for family vacations, reunions, honeymoons, outdoor adventures, hiking, and an escape from everyday life!
"High Places" offers some of the most spectacular and breathtaking views you can find!! Once you step out on the back deck, I'm certain the first words what will come out of your mouth is "WOW"!!! Don't believe me, come see for yourself!
Our amazing and beautiful cabin offers 3 private bedrooms, a sleeping loft with 2 twin beds and 3 full bathrooms. The open design of the living room, dining room, and kitchen will make your stay feel "not so cramped". It can comfortably sleep up to 8 guests.
The inviting living room offers spacious seating and a cozy gas fireplace to enjoy during those cold winter days. You'll also love watching your favorite TV shows on our new 42" flat screen TV with Dish Network and Netflix.
The dining table seats up to 6 with additional dining for 2 at the kitchen island. The kitchen area has granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, walk-in pantry and comes full stocked with a crock pot, George Foreman Grill, Keurig machine, Cuisinart coffee maker with built in grinder, Panini maker, dutch oven, and so much more. We have just about everything you need to prepare that gourmet meal for your entire group!
On the main level is the king size master suite with satellite TV and private doors that lead out to the incredible wraparound deck. Plus you'll have your own private En Suite master bathroom. There is also another luxurious bedroom on the main floor with a king size poster bed along with a HDTV and a regular couch. If you need more sleeping room, the loft with spiral staircase has 2 twin beds that also takes advantage of the magnificent mountain views!
As you travel downstairs, you'll be pleasantly surprised to see another gas fireplace, more seating, Pool Table, board games, and a table to play the games or cards. You'll also find another luxurious and private queen size bedroom with yet another En Suite bathroom. It's like having a second master suite.
You'll have a chance to enjoy the majestic and awe inspiring mountains on our large and spacious decks. PLUS I know that you'll indulge yourself in our brand new 6 person spa and 40 hydrotherapy jets! I can't think of a better way to relax and enjoy yourself after a long day of hiking, biking, skiing, or shopping! After soaking in the spa, you and your entire family will enjoy spending time around our outdoor fire pit. You can roast marshmallows, make s'mores, tell stories, or just enjoy each other's fellowship!
At "High Places", we believe that nobody should be left behind. Why leave your pet at home when you can bring them along for the adventure. Well behaved dogs are welcome for a 1 time nonrefundable pet fee of $75 per dog plus tax (sorry, but no cats allowed).
High Places is the perfect way to spend quality time with the family. For the outdoor lovers, enjoy the nearby state parks, canoeing such as Riverside Canoe & Tube Rentals and Zaloo's Canoes, or hiking at one of the many trails in Ashe County. There is a 2 night minimum for off peak seasons and a 3 night minimum for holidays and the entire month of October. 4 night minimum for the Thanksgiving holiday and a 7 night minimum for the July 4th and Christmas/New Year holidays.
Check in time is 4:00 pm or after and check out time is 11:00 am.

As you plan your trip to the mountains, please remember we do get rain, snow and some foggy days and occasional inconveniences which are out of our control. Winter weather in the Blue Ridge Mountains can occur from November through April. The majority of our homes are accessed by mountain roads, which will be icy in winter weather. For the safety of you and your party, please be prepared to drive in snow and ice. This means 4-wheel drive, good tires, and chains. It is your responsibility to be prepared for hazardous road conditions. There will be NO refunds, allowances, or date changes resulting from your negligence in this matter.
