Also, worth paying a visit to are the historic and archeological sites around Rosarito and the Fox Studios, which were made famous by the hit movie The Titanic. The city is a popular Hollywood movie shooting location. Don't be surprised if you come within arms length of Hollywood stars like Johnny Depp or Reese Witherspoon. Another popular tourist spot often associated with Rosarito is its suburb township, Puerto Nuevo. Located just 8 km from the city limits, this once fishing village is a much sought after destination by the hard core seafood buffs, especially those looking for lobster victuals and prawn delicacies.

Getting from the border to the Oceana Condo:

Driving south from San Diego CA, just take the Interstate Highway 5 or the Interstate 805 south. This will take you to the San Ysidro CA border crossing at Tijuana Mexico. From the border, stay in far right lane . Take the first exit on the right to “Rosarito Ensenada Playas ".

 

Follow signs to “Rosarito Ensenada" and “Ensenada Cuota." You will head west beside the border fence. After climbing up and over the first hill, you will descend into a canyon. TAKE FIRST RIGHT Take the exit at the bottom, "Rosarito Ensenada Scenic Road." LEFT G

 

FORK. After climbing the next hill, the road curves south and you will approach the first toll booth. Take left fork after first right turn towards Rosarito/Ensenada. Not fork into Playas. (There is a great oceanfront walkway and wonderful oceanfront resturants in Playas should you be ready to eat. Stop there first)( go straight. Just the otherside of bull ring)

 

Rosarito Beach is 18 miles south of the border, and the easiest way to get there is on the Toll Road. There is one toll booth between Tijuana and Rosarito Beach. The toll cost is about $1.80. The toll booth attendants appreciate exact change, cannot accept anything larger than a $20, accept dollars or pesos - but not mixed payment. The 17mile scenic trip will take about fifteen minutes.

 

There are FIVE exits into Rosarito Beach Exit 5 th exit ROSARITO SUR. There is a big white arch. (20 miles south of the border) Right turn This exit takes you directly to Benito Juárez, Boulevard the Main Street at Rosarito's Down Town (2 Blocks), take a right turn, get into LEFT lane , Count 5 Stop signs. Turn left at th 5 th. Stop ( there will be a COSTA. PLAZA AND. DAIRY QUEEN on the right side Make a LEFT turn. You will see Oceana and a sigh Rosarito. Inn BONANOVA HOSPITAL HOSP and a liquor store on the corner And A walk across bridge.
