The manager of Blue Sky South is John, who is based on Tortola and is assisted by Sonia in Grenada.John has travelled widely throughout the Caribbean for business and pleasure and has good knowledge of what guests want when on holiday. His idea is to provide guests with an authentic Caribbean experience during their stay.Luther's cottage in Tortola is in traditional Caribbean style and the furniture in Blue Paradise and Sueno in Grenada are made from lumber from trees that were growing on property
The view is the best part! Stunning view and ocean sounds. The kids enjoyed the pool. The house is comfortable. It could use some updates but everything worked and the King bed was comfortable. You might like to know that in June the seaweed blooms and is all over the beach, so we could not enjoy the beach at all which really bummed us out bc it is a beautiful area. But, we made the most of our time with other sight seeing. I also recommend to see what events might be going on during the time you travel. A Soca Fete kept us up all night one night with loud music. Getting out to Sauters is a nice change from the South of the island and we enjoyed our time.
This is a wonderful location and a beautiful home but it is a good idea to come prepared! The location is pretty remote which is generally a great thing. It's near some excellent attractions, like Belmont Estate (must visit) and Levara Bay, and I would recommend staying in this part of the island for a real taste of Grenada. That does come with a few challenges - none of which have to be a problem, but come prepared. I'd suggest packing some food e.g. coffee, any convenience foods. There are small supermarkets in Sauteurs but the availability of food on the island in general is a bit limited and fairly expensive. Lots of great fruit and veg, only what is in season, but other items would be good to bring. Driving from St George's to Sauteurs is also something you have to get your head around. Other reviews suggested getting an SUV and this is a must. The main route was closed so we had to drive through the interior of the island if we wanted to get South and it was very steep and winding. Would suggest the most confident driver takes on the role! Also, this means it would be better to stock up on things you need in St George's before you set off as it's a long way back. The house is right on the beach. The setting is beautiful and both that and the pool are amazing to have. The pool is even better than in the photos. We were there with our nearly 2 year old. She had a wonderful time and, with an eye kept on her near the pool, was perfectly safe. If you are travelling with young children, I would suggest bringing as much of what they need as you can, as well as a travel cot.
We enjoyed our stay at Bleu Paradise very much. Sonya made check-in convenient. It's a great location on a quiet road and the cottage is a great design - we particularly liked the plunge pool. The Petite Anse Hotel is a short walk away and is a great place for a drink or dinner.
Beautiful, natural getaway on the beautiful, rugged north side of Grenada. Sonia was attentive, John was very quick and easy to deal with, and Sonia also made a great roti at her shop in Sauteurs. Walking distance to good food at Petit Anse, and the sound of birds and waves in the mornings and evenings superb. The sand has eroded a bit at the end of the stairs leading to the the beach (this might be seasonal), so be aware there's 50 feet or so of challenging footing on some rocks before you get to the sandy stretch of beach. Our family had a great stay, highly recommended.
If you are looking for a simple place to relax, this is your place. If you are looking for a luxury beach house, keep looking. The plunge pool and outdoor shower were nice amenities. A short walk to Petite Anse Resort and even shorter walk to Armadillo House which I highly recommend for a special dinner.
John’s residence is fantastic. You can go to sleep with the sound of the waves and wake up each morning to the breathtaking view of the ocean and the lush green vegetation all around. The beach and the town are a stone’s throw away!! It is the perfect getaway from the hectic lifestyle. John replies promptly to his guest’s questions and helps with whatever is needed. It was a wonderful vacation!
Such a lovely house to stay in! It was super clean and felt really homely. The plunge pool was a real bonus after playing on the beach or having a long day exploring. The view is perfection and the aircon was brilliant. We picked up the keys up from Alyson with no problems on Grand anse beach as we were already on the island. We would love to come bsck!
