    Why it is Famous :Kovalam is a busy tourist resort. Very popular location since the days of the hippie 60s. Similar to Goa.
    Facts About Destination :Back in the 1960s and 1970s men used to bus into Kovalam to view half naked tourist women in their bikinis. Now beach wear is the norm in Kovalam - but not in most other parts of Kerala.
