Enticing Pigeons Lodge is nestled amongst 2.5 acres of native bush on a hillside sloping down to the edge of Shoal Bay in Great Barrier Island's Tryphena harbour. It is a purpose-built, lodge-style accommodation ideally suited for those needing a rejuvenating break away from the rigours of modern life.
The lodge has its own separate guest wing with lounge area, in-house-bar and expansive decks providing a comfortable and relaxing space to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding nature.
Be prepared for the delightful whirr of wood pigeons' wings as they fly past you just a few feet from where you are sitting and marvel as they perform their acrobatic dives in the air just above you. Walk through cool bush out to the headland to watch the sun go down, or stroll down our path to the water's edge for a lazy swim.
Just 30 minutes by air from Auckland, Whitianga and Whangerei or 1 hour from Tauranga, you can be in paradise in no time at all. Pigeons Lodge is the perfect place to enjoy peaceful accommodation and to explore the beautiful Great Barrier Island in New Zealand's Hauraki Gulf.
The Lodge has three main bedrooms each with its own ensuite bathroom. The downstairs bedroom, overlooking the front gardens is adjacent to the guest lounge and has views of the bay. Upstairs, the front bedroom has views across the bay and the third bedroom has views over the lush garden. The upstairs bedrooms share a small deck which has views of the gardens and bay.
