Originally from Mexico City, I was born into a family of medical professionals. My siblings and I were fortunate to travel often with our parents and after graduating from college Argentina, Peru, and Brazil were destinations I called my home away from home. In 1990 I made one of several repeat visits to the U.S. and decided to make Long Beach my home. Located about 2 blocks to the ocean, Convention Center, Shoreline Village, and Pike shopping center. House was clean. Owner is easy to get a hold of. We parked in the gated section at night and then right in front of the house during the day. This is a busy street with cars and people. There is a Von's about a block down from the house for any groceries that you might need. If I were to visit Long Beach again, I would rent this house.

We have stayed here twice now and we absolutely love it! The pictures are spot on and improvements were made between trips. There is now a private sweet little side yard that is fenced and accessible from the master bedroom or through a gate off of the front porch. The teenagers I had with me used it every night as their "hang out spot" where they could listen to music and have private conversations. The wooden fence was decorated with old surf boards. Very cute. Tons of closet space for clothes. Apartment size washer and dryer. Kitchen is adequately stocked with dishes, eating utensils and cookware. There is a coffee pot and a blender. Some seasonings and usually pasta and jars of sauce if you arrive with no food. Other guests sometimes leave food they bought for the pantry which makes it feel homey. Check dates though. There are beach toys for children. Internet tv (yay Netflix!) and an antenna for OTA tv. No TVs in the bedrooms which was nice. The wifi is good. We had no problems with 3 smart phones and the tv! Nice. The sofa has a trundle that pulls out, the sofa pillows go on it and voila you have a double bed. Perfect for kids or a "close couple". Two bedrooms with queen beds. Sleeps 6. Plenty of room for a pack n play in the master of you have a toddler or a baby. In fact the walk in closet in that room is as big as some nurseries. Seriously big! Seating for 4 at the table. One bathroom but we had no problem with hot water. Emma is very helpful if needed but otherwise leaves you on your own. There is night parking (after 6pm) and Sunday only parking next door at a gated dentists office that you get a remote for. Street parking in the day by 8am when the office is open. That can sometimes be tricky. Watch out for street sweeping days. The ticket is $50 and each street is a different day. READ. I didn't. Nearby within walking distance: 3 blocks to Vons (major grocery chain). Bonus is there's a Starbucks inside. A block or two takes you to Thai, Mexican, Pizza, Chicken n Waffles and more. A gas station on the corner next door to the Dentist where you park. A liquor store across the street and a little bar (didn't try it) down the street in the opposite direction. You can walk to the beach about 5 blocks. Fee parking there if you drive. The Queen Mary is very near. Great tour! Also the Long Beach Aquarium is very near. Both a VERY short drive. Maybe 6-7 minutes! Aquarium is great and has 2 restaurants right across from parking.
We loved staying in this little home. It was clean and the beds were comfy. The neighborhood is a little sketchy, but overall we felt safe and really enjoyed our stay here.
A car is necessary to travel to local attractions but car parking is a problem. While you can park in a nearby dentist area overnight, you have to get up early to move the car which means you have to find an empty space somewhere on a busy street.
