Description

Poltor Cottage sits in a tranquil rural setting overlooking St Austell Bay in Cornwall UK.  It is surrounded by a World Heritage Mining Site with views towards a ruined Engine House in fields of grazing horses.  Nearby is the renowned Eden Project, Bodmin Steam Railway, Bodmin Moor, Lostwithiel known for its antiques shops, the beautiful port and small town of Fowey, numerous golf courses, National Trust properties, gardens open to the public, sailing, and many other attractions - some ideal for wet weather days.  If your holiday/vacation is all about relaxing away from the usual hub bub of the work place then Poltor Cottage is just the place.

The Cottage was built approx 6 years ago in the Cornish vernacular.
Ground floor: 1 double bedroom with en suite shower room Open plan Kitchen/diner with dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave. Sitting Room and Sun Lounge, Utility Room with washer and dryer. Upstairs: Bedroom: 1 single bed plus fold-up bed, Bath/shower Room
Outside: Doors from Sitting Room to patio area with table and chairs. Enclosed shared garden within owners' grounds, surrounded in part with dry stone walling. Enclosed parking space for 1 car.
There is no internet access but it is recommended that the purchase of a dongle for a laptop serves the purpose. 
Both bedrooms have TVs as does the Sitting Room.  CDs and videos are available as well as books.  Linen and towels are provided   For those with a dog, there is a dog bed, outside kennel,  food bowls, dog towels etc.

Why it is Famous :The author Daphne du Maurier lived nearby and many of her books were drawn from the surrounding area such as Jamaica Inn on Bodmin Moor and the House on the Strand. There is an annual Daphne du Maurier Festival with many famous participants. The Eden Project comprising several large domes with temperate climates to house exotic plants. The cottage is surrounded by a World Heritage Site (Mining).
Area Information :Par and Carlyon beaches and other coves are nearby. The towns of St Austell, Fowey and Lostwithiel (antiques) are close by. Charleston port with historic schooners. Bodmin Moor. Many golf courses.
How to reach :Fly to Newquay or Exeter and hire a car. Train to Par Station, hire a car or take a taxi By car ask owner for directions

Precautions :There are no street lights so it can be very dark outside at night without a torch.
