1. Authorisation
Booking with Libélula means that you agree to our terms and conditions and you give us authorisation to charge your credit card.
2. Bookings
Bookings can be made online through the Libélula website or third party websites. We are unable to hold reservations or accept bookings by telephone. At the time of booking, you will be required to pay a deposit of 50% of your total room price to secure your reservation. The remaining 50% is payable by card or cash at check in.
3. Cancellations
We understand that plans change, but as a small hotel with limited availability we must enforce our cancellation policy without exception. Guests are responsible for cancelling bookings whether made direct through our website or through a third party. Our cancellation policy is as follows:
Upto 30 days: Cancellations made 30 days prior to reservation date or longer will receive a Full Refund
30 - 7 days out : Cancellations made between the 30 - 7 days prior to the reservation date will be charged: 50% of the total reservation booking.
7 days - arrival: will be charged - 100% of the total reservation booking.
All refunds are subject to a 10% service charge to cover bank and exchange rate fees.
Libélula Lounge will NOT be liable for any change or cancellation of any reservation that is caused, in whole or in part, by events, occurrences, or causes beyond the control of Libélula Lounge. Such events, occurrences, or causes include, without limitation, acts of God, terrorist activities, weather, strikes, lockdowns, riots, acts of war, earthquakes, volcanic activity, ash clouds, flooding, tsunamis, tropical storms, fire and explosions.
We recommend that you purchase travel insurance to protect your travel investment.
4. Check In
Check in is from 2pm until 8pm. If you are arriving after 8pm you must arrange a late check in by contacting us before your arrival. There is a late check in fee of $20 for check in's between 8pm and 10pm and $50 for check ins between 10pm and midnight. If you are arriving before 2pm, we will do our best to facilitate early check in and you are welcome to relax by the pool.
5. Check Out
Check out is at 11am. If you need a late check out, please speak to the team and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. We will conduct a room check before you leave. Restaurant and bar tabs will be settled on check out, if applicable.
6. Extra Guests
Room rates are based on double occupancy. For more than two guests, an additional $15 per person, per night will be charged. For your comfort, we recommend a maximum of two adults and two children per room.
7. Parking
Secure, on-site parking is available in clearly marked bays. We can only accept one car per room. If you bring more than 1 car, or a car with a trailer and extra vehicles, you will need to park on the street outside the hotel. Parking is at your own risk and we are not responsible for vehicle damage or theft.
8. Pets
We are a pet friendly resort and there is a dog and a cat living at Libélula who are not allowed to enter guest rooms. Guests are permitted to bring pets but dogs must be kept under control at all times. Dogs are not allowed in the swimming pool or the hotel kitchen. Pets can not be left unattended on the resort. Libélula is not responsible for looking after any pets or any damages or injuries caused to people or property by pets. Damages caused by pets will fall under the Theft and Damages policy and excessive barking under the Unsociable Behaviour policy.
9. Privacy Policy
We only take the personal information we need to process your booking and we do not sell your personal information to third parties. By law, we must have a photo of your passport or photo ID which we take on our phones, send to our PC via an encrypted messenger service and store in a password protected folder. We also take a photo of a credit card upon arrival for insurance puposes for if there was any damages or unsettled tabs after checkout. All photos are then deleted from our phones after checkout.
10. Smoking
In line with Costa Rican law, smoking is forbidden in guest rooms and around the pool, bar and gardens. If you wish to smoke you are permitted to do this off the premisis.
11. Swimming Pool
Our pool is approximately one metre deep at the shallow end and two metres deep at the deep end. There is no lifeguard on duty and guests swim at their own risk. Children must be supervised at all times. The pool is open from 7am to 6pm.
12. Theft & Damages
Guests are responsible for ensuring rooms are left as found upon check in. Any damages, losses or breakage of our property will be charged to your credit card based upon the cost of repair or cleaning or purchase cost of the item. Rooms will be checked upon check out.
The resort is protected by a security fence and the gates are kept closed for your safety. Please do not share the gate code with anyone not staying at the resort, and outside guests are forbidden. Libélua is not responsible for any loss or damage to guest property whilst staying at the resort.
13. Unsociable Behaviour
We are a small, family friendly resort and quiet time is from 8pm to 7am. Excessive noise and anti sociable behavior will not be tolerated. Guests who violate this condition will be asked to leave the premises immediately and will not be entitled to a refund.
14. Wi-fi
Free wi-fii is provided throughout the resort and guests agree to use this fairly and appropriately. Use of the network to access illegal or inappropriate sites is forbidden.

We sold everything we had in the UK, flew to Canada, bought a van and drove south, sharing adventures as a family on the way.
