Bear Butte Lodge provides the ultimate in luxury mountain living. This comfortable, three-bedroom, split-level home features modern amenities and open floor plan that is perfect for entertaining family and friends... or just good old-fashioned R&R. A large carved wooden bear cheerfully greets arriving guests at the top of the steep driveway, where there is parking for two or three vehicles, in addition to a one-car garage. The lower level of the home is accessed by the garage or from the porch, through the front door. This floor features two bedrooms that share a full bathroom. One bedroom has direct access to the bathroom, and the other bedroom is across the hall and has a small flat screen TV. Both downstairs bedrooms are appointed with queen-size beds, ceiling fans, wood flooring, walk-in closets, and windows with fantastic views. Guests climbing up the 15 steps to the upper floor will immediately be "wowed" once they reach the top. To the left is a separate master bedroom with a king-size bed, a roomy bathroom with a large jet tub and separate shower, and a window providing an amazing view right from bed. The real focal point of the home, however, is the rest of the floor. A great room with vaulted ceilings and a large fireplace and mantle is characterized by comfort and luxury. This airy room has a TV, access to the large upper deck, finished pine ceilings and floors, a wooden bar with four bar stools, and overstuffed leather furniture. This main living room spills over into an open dining area, complete with a table and seating for six people. The kitchen is also part of this open floor plan, with a dedicated laundry room at the back. Outside, a spacious wrap-around deck offers 270-degree views and plenty of elbow room. The widest portion of the deck behind the house is private and features a hot tub, an enclosed dry sauna, and access to a little walkway and fenced-in back yard. The west-facing portion of the porch features pull-down screens for those bright sunny evenings, and the north-facing side offers some of the best views in Ruidoso. Bear Butte Lodge is located just minutes from the shopping and restaurants of downtown Ruidoso and is an even shorter drive to Grindstone Reservoir, where guests can go fishing, try their hands at three different 9-hole disc golf courses, or take advantage of extensive hiking and biking trails. Please note that this property has a steep driveway and that four-wheel drive and/or chains are absolutely required when ice or snow are present. This driveway is not ideal for motorcycles or low profile vehicles.
