Chantemerle is one of the most beautiful hamlets
of Samoëns , a remarkable site which houses one of the seven chapels of Samöens, listed in the inventory of historical monuments. Mass is said there once a year in August.
The place is superb , with a view stretching from the Mont Blanc chain to Lake Geneva and exceptional sunshine, especially in winter when the valley remains in the mist.
We are on the south side of the valley, very sunny, at 1100 m altitude, the ski resort is on the north side. The ski lifts start in the village of Samoëns, 4 km from Chantemerle .
This property was acquired in 1968 by the Lustig family. It was a farm whose construction dates back to the 19th century. The little house and the shed have been renovated by Claire's father: you will appreciate the entirely handmade stairs without a nail!
The little house and the shed have long been rented with rudimentary comfort. We have redone them to bring them up to modern standards. The large house ( the farm ) was completely redone and extended in 2014, while taking care to keep the whole of its character of a mountain house.
By offering Chantemerle for rent, we aim to make you enjoy the beauty of the place and this is for us a means of financing the maintenance of these houses which, as you can imagine, is very expensive.
You are not in a hotel, but in a family house and a mountain house where the climate is harsh . There are small material incidents in everyday life, but we will provide you with all the elements to resolve them.
These lodgings are not suitable if you want to be at the foot of the slopes, with a view of the car park, near bars and nightclubs, in the crowd and noise. Chantemerle is for lovers of the great outdoors, calm and beauty. No gripes please!
