Villa Amon

Villa Amon was built in the late 1800's as one of the original founding structures for the capital city San Jose. It was designed and built by a French mason and is still considered one of the most impressive architectural accomplishments in Costa Rican history.

 

During it's illustrious history, this home was integral the plotting, planning and executing the 1948 democratic revolution. It has also played host to many world dignitaries over the years and served as the British Embassy in the 1950's. It is the gem of the historic district barrio Amon, San Jose.

 

The house was featured as the month of February in the historic national calendar 2013.

The home is roughly 10 square feet, with 6 suites, a large ball room, formal dining room, kitchen nook, downstairs and upstairs bars, fountain room, sitting areas, and outdoor patio's. There are hardwood floor, ceramic tile, granite and marble throughout the this magnificent home.

 

Two of the suites have Jacuzzi tubs. The home boosts all modern features including cable TV, wifi, air conditioning, hot water, a servants quarters, and soundproof windows. It is truly an oasis in the middle of the city. It is walking distance from all major attractions, ie. the national theater, and several museums.
