I expect my guests to appreciate the care with which we have equipped and finished this space and to be respectful of the home and of our neighbors. Absolutely no smoking anywhere on the property. Our other airbnb vacation rental next door has an adjoining patio and smoke will drift from one patio to the other so that is why there is no smoking anywhere on the property. I will consider dogs but I need to be assured up front that the dogs will not be allowed on the furniture. The guest who is making the booking needs to be over 24 years old.

I am a happy world traveller whose home bases are Venice CA and San Felipe, Baja Mexico. I have worn many hats and have had many roles - I think that these latest ones of retiree and Nana to my beautiful grandsons may be the most rewarding of all. I love meeting people and being sociable and I also love spending solo hours in my studio painting and sculpting (unfortunately with more enthusiasm than talent). My ideal guests will be quite self sufficient but friendly and open.
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rachel's home. Rachel is a great host and was very responsive to any queries we had. We felt right at home with the fruits laid out on the table and the wine with a welcome note in the fridge. The neighborhood was quiet but safe and the home was cosy and very clean. We would definitely stay at Rachel's home again and highly recommend it:
Loved our stay at Rachel’s for my daughter’s graduation weekend. The place was quiet and super convenient. Rachel’s kitchen had all the amenities you’d want if you wanted to make a real meal. The check in was very easy and the beds were super comfortable. We enjoyed our homemade mother’s day breakfast in the garden. We’d love to come back next time!
Can't beat the location - nestled in a cute neighborhood walking distance to Abbot Kinney. Very sweet and communicative host.
Rachel's was a great host and welcomed us warmly. She provided many essentials so that we did not have to run out and find simple basics, she had already thought of most everything. Her place was roomy, clean and nicely decorated with everything you could want whether you are heading to the beach or busy visiting colleges, like we were. The kitchen is small, but not too small. It was clean and had everything we needed. Parking was pretty easy, with always a spot somewhere within a block's radius. Just be careful of the red lines, and notes about street cleaning mornings. Rachel provides warnings about that too. It was my first visit to LA, so I misjudged and thought we'd be able to walk to a variety of restaurants and shops, but really, we drove everywhere. Being originally from NYC, it was not a big deal dealing with the traffic or parking. Driving was just easier...which is LA's biggest problem, I guess. I highly recommend Rachel's Venice beach house. It is a great place and she was a great host.
We had a great stay at Rachel's place! It was so comfortable and had everything we needed. We really appreciated the beach chairs and towels! The location is great, really close to Erewhon market and Abbot Kinney but the neighborhood is so quiet and really easy to find parking. We also walked to the Venice canals one day in about 20 minutes. Communication with Rachel wish really easy, we would definitely recommend!
Rachel's home was spacious, cozy, and very comfortable. The beds gave us great sleep, the shower heated up very quickly, and all the basic kitchen cookware and utensils were all in order. Parking was easy and it was great having access to a full sized washer and dryer. The crib and high chair were in great shape. As a heads up to those staying in winter, you might want to wear shoes indoors or bring slippers since there is a large heater/grate in the hallway and living room floors that may be unpleasant to step on.
