A cypress-lined road winds its way up through olive groves to an iron gate; passing through, the visitor sees before them a traditional Tuscan farmhouse, the Agriturismo Mille e un Ulivo . The house sits high in the slopes of the Montalbano hills, providing a glorious view of the inimitable Tuscan landscape.
From 1500-1600, this region was the hunting preserve of the Medici family. Its attraction can be seen even today, where vineyards and olive groves nestle alongside wilder wooded tangles of holm-oaks (ilex) and chestnuts.
The Agriturismo Mille e un Ulivo has been sympathetically restored using traditional building materials in order to preserve its harmony with the landscape. It is immersed in a landscape in which the eye gazes over vineyards and olive groves, and across the plains to the valley of the river Arno.
