I lived in this area all my life and have a passion for fixing and restoring everything I own. When I purchased this house it was a challenge to renovate, but with time and a lot of hard work it all came together without alternating the original design. I hope everyone will enjoy and respect this house and the finger lakes as much as I do. Bill Snook purchased this House in 2012

Wonderful waterfront house for 4 couples

We had a wonderful time in this waterfront home, and it was warm enough to enjoy the firepit several evenings. The wineries were very close, and the kitchen was well stocked with several pots and pans for us to be able to cook breakfast and dinner a few nights. It was convenient to arrive and have the sheets and towels provided. We would definitely return. Thank you.

Home away from home feeling with a great view of the lake.

Loved the house and it’s furnishings. Owner was always available even when we locked ourselves out. Only one complaint of the property and that is when you use all four bedrooms, two of them are upstairs and the only way to get there is to go outside and up a stairwell, which is a little inconvenient.

Memorable Fall Weekend on Seneca Lake

The Lodi Lake House was a relaxing and enjoyable home-base to exploring Seneca Lake and the surrounding Finger Lakes during a girls weekend getaway. Property owner, Bill, maintains a lovely home and is very attentive to his guests. The house is spacious, inviting, and offers many areas to unwind and take in the surrounding beauty. Bill offered suggestions to wineries, music venues, and dining that enhanced our first time experience of the Finger Lakes. Taking in the beautiful sunsets from the porch and pier was one of our true highlights to our weekend trip. (Sept. 20-24, 2018)

High ground

We had a great week together as a family. In spite of an epic rainstorm the week before our trip that badly damaged the low ground down by Lodi, our spot on high ground was in fine shape. This is one of the cleanest houses we’ve stayed in at the lake. We loved the large front porch overlooking the lake and would certainly come again. Thanks for your hospitality Bill!

A great place to kick back and relax

The Tuesday before we were scheduled to arrive, massive flooding tore through the Lodi area, washing tons of debris down into the lake, and wreaking havoc on many homes in the vicinity. Roads and bridges were washed out, utilities were knocked off-line, and a state of emergency was declared. Bill provided ongoing and honest communication on the status of all of the above, even as he spent three days working to help his neighbors recover and to correct any issues that impacted his house. He made it clear that we were free to cancel our reservation if we were worried or uncomfortable with the circumstances, but we’re so glad we didn’t take him up on the offer. Positioned on a hill overlooking the lake and his dock, Bill’s house is utterly unique. The original structure dates to 1875, and the original footprint has been approximately doubled in size. The entire house has been recently renovated and is spacious and comfortable throughout. The two floors mirror one another with two bedrooms, two baths, a full kitchen and a large living/dining area. The house is as well-outfitted as any rental we’ve stayed in, with a full array of kitchen equipment supplied on each floor, all linens (including soft fluffy bath towels!) provided, as well as a gas grill and two fire pits (one lakeside), a large, new dock with numerous personal watercraft and more. One of the house’s best features is the ample front porch that overlooks the lake. It comfortably accommodated our entire party with room to spare. It became the epicenter of our relaxing lake vacation – perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee or a glass of wine while reading, chatting or just enjoying the view. The one minor negative is that there are no indoor stairs between the two floors. To get from one to the other, you have to exit a screen porch, and then climb a very steep, enclosed stairway. An enclosure or a small roof to protect you from the elements as you exit and reenter the house would be a nice addition. As noted above, Bill was open and honest about everything that was going on in the area and made sure we knew what to expect before we arrived. Throughout the week, he went above and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable stay, offering numerous excellent recommendations for local restaurants, wineries, breweries and attractions. If you’re looking for someplace that combines relaxing solitude with convenient access to multiple activities, this is the perfect option.
