In a superb elevated position, commanding magnificent long distance views across a rolling rural landscape, this detached farm cottage situated on the owner's working farm is located approximately 4 miles from West Heslerton, a tranquil Wolds village. The villages around the area have good pubs with excellant food.
The seaside resorts of Scarborough, Whitby, Filey and Bridlington are within a short drive away and Flamingoland Theme Park and Zoo are also within easy access.
York with it's Minster and Railway Museum are only a 30 minute drive away.
The Cottage comprises of kitchen with dining area, living room, 3 bedrooms and a bathroom. There is private parking and a large lawned garden with picnic table and garden chairs provided.
This well equiped cottage is the ideal holiday base where you are assured of a warm welcome. The cottage sleeps up to five, plus a cot is also available and is centrally heated throughout. Sorry no pets are allowed due to the cottage being on a working farm. The cottage also operates a non-smoking policy.
Walking - The Wolds Way and Centenary Way pass by close to the farm with other bridle paths and foot paths to also walk. The North Yorkshire Moors also offer various walks as does the Coastline around Scarborough.
Shopping - There is a village shop and post office in Sherburn. For the larger shop Morrison's is located in Malton and on the outskirts of Scarborough on the main A64 trunk road.
Public Transport - There is no bus service that passes the farm but there is a bus service which runs from Leeds right through to Scarborough along the A64 which you can pick up at either West Heslerton or Sherburn. A timetable is located on the notice board in the cottage. There is a train station at Malton with the line running from Scarborough through to York and beyond, again a timetable is in the cottage.
Tourist Information - There are several leaflets and packs in the cottage advertising various places of interest around the area and beyond. There are also Tourist Information centres in Scarborough, Malton, York and Pickering.
Eating Out - There are several village pubs and inns to cater for most tastes with children welcome.
Pets - As mentioned on the introduction page no pets are allowed due to the cottage being on a working farm. There is 1 dog and a cat on the farm who will welcome you as much as the owners.
Letting Information - The cottage is let on a weekly basis, but as of this year we are also offering short breaks, such as long weekends (Fri to Mon) or short weeks (Mon to Fri). The price for the cottage includes provision of towels, bed linen and tea towels.
Arrivals and Departures - Visitors are asked to arrive no earlier than 3pm and to vacate the following week no later than 9.30am. This allows time for change around.
