    Why it is Famous :Jim Thorpe is a beautiful mountain town named after the famous Olympic athlete Jim Thorpe. He is buried in this town and there is a memorial to him that you may visit.
    Area Information :Lots to do for the indoor or outdoor person. Restaurants, musems and gifts shops for those who don\'t want to be outside. Bike riding, swimming, boating, rafting, skiing (winter), paintball,hiking and more.
    Why visit :Relaxing, beautiful destination where you will want to return again and again.
    How to reach :6 Miles from the PA Turnpike, NE Extension. Only 1.5 hours from Philadelphia and 2-2.5 hours from NYC. Easy trip for a weekend or a week.
    Best time to visit :Summer and fall. Winter if you like to ski or sled or enjoy winter sports.
    Transport system :A car is needed to get most places. This property is on the main street so you can walk to museums and restaurants.
