It is situated on a pond with a lighted fountain and gazebo. The perimeter has a natural fence of 20 foot high flowering bushes. The interior of the property has a long paved pathway which runs through tropical gardens filled with thousands of flowering shrubs. This is a bird and butterfly sanctuary which is as beautiful as many public botanical gardens. The heated pool and spa is enclosed in a screened in porch which has a large seating area which can accommodate a variety of activities. There is a putting green just outside the screened in lanai which is a multipurpose area that can be used for putting, bocce ball, bean bag toss, ping pong, and other outdoor games. The ping pong table is set up in the garage to play day and night but it can be moved out to the putting green if desired. There are lots of pool toys available and a large pool area and pool deck. There is a BBQ on the pool deck area for lots of outdoor fun. There are plenty of outdoor tables and chairs as well. SLEEPING ACCOMMODATIONS: The main house master bedroom has a king size bed and a double size sleeper sofa. Bedroom 2 has a king size bed. Bedroom 3 has a queen size bed. The living room has a queen size sleeper sofa. Younger kids can use the air mattresses. PING PONG TABLE - For all to enjoy. POND - Enjoy fishing in the pond, feeding the 15 turtles, and be amused by the otters and beautiful birds that inhabit the property. Throw bread into the pond from the gazebo and the turtles and fish will come over to you. They all enjoy an easy meal. Dragonflies patrol the evening skies eating mosquitoes and other annoying bugs so that the bug population is minimal. There has never been an alligator in the pond. WINDING PATHWAYS - The grounds is a certified national wildlife habitat. The winding paved pathways will take you through the natural gardens and butterfly plants that surround the property. Over 10,000 flowering tropical plants with rich red, yellow, white and purple flowers line the nearly half mile of pathways. The most colorful time of year is summertime when dozens of species are in full bloom. See hundreds of huge, magnificent plants (which are too large for typical homes) line the 1/4 mile perimeter of the property. There are over 100 huge trees scattered throughout which provide welcome shade, cool air and homes for countless butterflies including Monarch, Gulf Fritillary, Pipevine Swallowtail, Cloudless Sulpher and Zebra Longwing (Florida's State Butterfly) who play regularly in the thousands of plants available just for them. SHOPPING - Just a mile to dozens of grocery stores and restaurants. Walmart is a mile away. 4.5 miles to the luxurious UTC mall and shopping area. TENNIS - You have access to 2 private tennis courts. We supply 2 tennis rackets and tennis balls. BEACHES - Several beaches are located nearby. We include beach chairs, beach umbrellas, beach towels, and coolers for your trips to the beach. My preference is Siesta Key beach which is rated #1 in the world. Newly renovated it has ample parking and restrooms. There are plenty of casual restaurants in the area as well as bars for dancing late into the night. Sunday night an hour before sunset there is a drum circle on Siesta Key beach which attracts dozens of drummers and hundreds of onlookers, dancers, and interesting characters. Definitely entertaining for young and old. OUTDOOR FUN - There is a sound system, TV, and outdoor lighting on the patio. Corn hole bean bag toss game is ready for action! A bar is available outdoors for drinks. Lots of outdoor seating and tables. Large putting green can be used for Bocce Ball and other activities. FISHING - If you want to fish, the pond behind my home is fun to fish in. It has Tilapia and Bluegill. You will catch a fish every cast. There are many bridges nearby that people fish from so that you can salt water fish without renting a boat. Two of the most popular are the Sunshine Skyway bridge and the Venice Beach Fishing Pier. There are many other areas to fish from as well. I have plenty of coolers for food and drinks along with beach chairs and umbrellas. If you prefer deep waters there are charter fishing boats in the area located at Marina Jacks where there are 50 boats for hire. BOATING - Many boats are available to rent in the area. The inter-coastal area is very calm and great fun. Join dozens of other boaters for fun in the sun. BBQ - Propane BBQ is available for cook outs. What a great place to stay in Sarasota. We travelled with two families and 9 people. Plenty of sleeping space for everyone. Great space in the kitchen and great room.
