Location - right on the water, crystal clear, calm, perfect for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, SUP. Our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 teens) were in the water all day everyday. Loved how private the area was. Wonderful neighborhood. Loved the Pillbox Hike in the morning directly behind the home for the sunrise. Beautiful public beach just a mile up the road - this was by far our favorite beach after exploring many around the whole island. Loved the nearby independent restaurants. Very easy to have groceries delivered prior to stay - Thank you for helping Corey!! Property manager Corey was absolutely fantastic - very attentive, prompt, professional, and friendly. The home - spacious, all amenities you could possibly need, very clean, nice linens, fantastic to cook in (we made many meals at home). Kitchen seating provided ample gathering space. Only one downside, which was minor, is that at the end of a long day when my family of 5 wanted to watch a movie together, the living space provided enough upright seating for everyone (on a couch that seats 3 and a love seat that seats 2), but it was definitely not a "loungy" area. Seriously minor though, as we spend most of our time out exploring.
We felt right at home at The Hart of Lanikai! Myra is absolutely delightful to work with and was so kind and helpful in setting up our stay. I have booked several vrbo homes in the past and it really makes a huge difference when the owner is helpful and communicates so well. I knew we would find a well kept home, even before we arrived, given that Myra is so on top of things. The home is just lovely. It is situated right on the inviting, turquoise waters that make Lanikai so special. And better yet, the home is right in front of “the Mokes” - the two exotic islands just offshore. As if Hawaii isn’t exotic enough, seeing the Mokes was just the icing on the cake! Pineapple cake of course. Upon our arrival Tom, the caretaker of the home, met us and was so welcoming and informative about the home, the area, and the island. He is a joy to talk with and just exudes the very spirit of Aloha. For us, one of the best things about this home is that the bedrooms have air conditioning. Good air conditioning. No rattles, no window units. The real deal. While the breezes are lovely during the daytime, for us being accustomed to air conditioning on the mainland, it is the restful sleep we had in cool comfort that will ensure that we will return to this beautiful home again and again. The home is tranquil and quiet....a genuine opportunity to commune with the ocean. To feel the very breathing of the ocean, the life of our earth in all of its glory. My soul was nourished and fed by the sweet chirping of the birds and the freshness of the purified air that has been cleansed over the Pacific. We just couldn’t bear to leave this paradise, so we extended our stay. Again, Myra was fantastic in making our extension possible. Amen. Four more days to bask in the sun and kayak out to sea. We are already planning our return to the Hart of Lanikai. It can not come soon enough! Thank you Myra, thank you Tom! Thank you for all you do and thank you for sharing this piece of paradise.
What a fantastic home to stay in and the location and view is out of this world. The facilities provided exceeded our expectations. We did not want to leave!
The owner, the property managers, were all extremely helpful and accommodating. The air conditioning in the bedrooms was really helpful during the summer. Location and views are amazing. I would highly recommend this property as a vacation destination.
Our family of four loved this house. It has everything you need as far as amenities goes, the bedrooms are well appointed and it is spacious and very well kept. We had many meals cooked on the outside grill or in the kitchen on the deck overlooking the water where you can spot sea turtles swimming by. Its secure location is spectacular and the views of "The Mokes" are simply amazing. The beach access next to the house provides incredibly easy access to the water where we paddle boarded, kayaked, snorkeled and spearfished every day. The main section of Lanikai beach, one of the best in Hawaii, is only a short walk or bike ride away and there are several access points to the beach along the road. Kalapawai General Store, Buzz's Restaurant, a few shops and water sport and bike rentals are all within a mile or less. Kailua Town has an incredibly laid back atmosphere. If you enjoy spending your time in clear blue water, on one of the best beaches in the world, or just relaxing in a wonderful home with incredible views and a slight ocean breeze, I would highly recommend this house.
Three of us from Canada stayed at this amazing place the first week of March 2017. First of all, the view can't be captured well enough in photos, the beauty of the small volcanic islands in the warm, gentle, emerald waters... the sunrise (seen from the bedrooms) turns the water liquid gold. All the amenities one could want, including top appliances, large, well appointed, open rooms, a chef's kitchen, we used a private chef and sous chef for an event. Cory, the property manager, on call anytime for anything... he was always ready to help, to share. The owner, a pleasure to deal with, and one can trust with confidence. After all, she trusted us with her beautiful and expensive residence. There are not enough stars... Thank you for having us!
We stayed at this property over the Thanksgiving holiday and the place was so amazing and unforgettable that we decided to come back again after the Christmas and New Year buzz. The location was perfect as we had a magnificent ocean view. While we enjoyed a convenient beach access right next to the property, we felt very secure as it had a private gate. The property manager was especially thoughtful as we were greeted with a fresh tropical floral arrangement. Beautiful holiday decor was also put up which enhanced the joyful atmosphere that already came with the property. To top it all off, the property was clean and well-maintained at a level comparable to a 5-star hotel. We couldn't have asked for more. We will definitely be returning to this property again for another holiday!
Spent the Thansgiving holiday with my extended family here. Absolutely beautiful. Beautiful views from most areas of the house. Walking distance from the Lanikai Pillbox Hike. Located seconds from Lanikai beach and a short walk to Kailua Beach. Short drive to shops and restaurants. Kayaks and bikes are available for use.
The house is a work of art. Beautiful details everywhere. So luxurious and beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. It has every amenity. The ocean laps up to the back deck. The view is of a 2 delightful small islands (Mokuluas) and a coral reef. We sat on the deck in the lounges like we were on a cruise. We canoed out to the islands for a fun day trip. The beach is a short walk. We hiked up a nearby mountain and snorkeled in the "back yard" with sea turtles and tropical fish. The water is crystal clear. Paradise. You won't go wrong staying there. Wish I could live there.
We have had the privilege of staying at numerous vacation homes around the world. We have not found any to compare to Myra's home. The facilities or exquisite and the pristine beach is but a few feet away. There are numerous activities available to all on the island. I would recommend her home without any hesitation. We can only hope to have the opportunity of returning to her place in the future.
