this hotel - the owners were extremely helpful, the room was excellent and the kids loved playing in the grounds and with Choupette the cat. Watching the deer in the field opposite was idyllic; breakfast was beautifully presented and just as good to eat. I would - and have already - recommend this hotel to a wide variety of people from couples to families. If you like the real France, which given that's where you'd be looking to stay (!), then I dont think you'll find much better. Ok, very minor points in the interests of balance - the peaceful location means it is a fair walk into Pierrefonds itself (a beautiful place) and probably easiest to drive, plus I guess some people might find the decor traditional rather than modern. But, that really is nit-picking and I would recommend this place without reservation. We loved it.
out to be a wonderful stop-over after a day's drive. Set in tranquil woodland minutes from the village of Pierrefonds, it is a house of great character. A distinctive exterior is complemented by a charming interior with beautifully proportioned and well furnished rooms decorated in a simple but elegant way that exhibits a true sense of style. Each of our 3 spacious and comfortable suites had a terrace and en-suite bathroom. Upon arrival, Mme Dandoy made a reservation for us to dine by the lake at Hotel Beaudon that evening, which was most enjoyable; we were asked at what time we wanted breakfast; the latter was excellent, featuring local seasonal fruits and a fine selection of pastries. All in all, a great place (with the added benefit of easy access to Calais) to which we shall return. Highly recommended.
I stayed at the Ermitage for 4 nights while attending a wedding in Pierrefonds. I had high expectations of the place after reading the trip advisor reviews. All of these were met or exceeded. My host the Dandoys are warm and gracious. An elegant old home lovingly decorated .You are made to feel as a welcomed guest sharing their home. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable with modern bathrooms. A sitting area on the second floor provided a cozy spot to catch up on some reading. A table set up in the front garden is a perfect spot to relax and take in the surrounding views after spending time in the village. A leisurely breakfast served and a chance to chat with other guests. I highly recommend the Ermitage to anyone visiting Pierrefonds.
