ABOUT VACATION RENTALS IN KAUAI
Your visit to Hawaii is not complete without visiting Kauai, "the Garden Isle". The island is famous for its pristine beaches, exciting cliffs, dense tropical foliage, majestic canyons, and magnificent mountain ranges. Kauai is not a day's affair, you have so much to see and a must-see is the dramatic Na Pali Coast that dominates Kauai's northwestern shore. The coast has cliffs that tower at 4,000 feet and these cliffs are accessible along the ever-enticing Kalalau Trail on the Na Pali Coast.

For guests of Kauai Vacation Homes, there are helicopter tours from Princeville on the north shore and from Lihue on the east shore. There are frequent tours to the Na Pali Coast and the Waimea Canyon. Kayaking tours up the Hanalei River are popular on Kauai's north shore. Hanalei River is an American heritage river that provides habitat for species like gobies, the hihiwai, and Newcomb's snail.

Vacationers can go for a cruise in the Wailua River on a motorboat, complete with Hawaiian musicians and hula dancers to the picturesque Fern Grotto, a lava rock grotto painted green by the fern. The grotto is an ideal setting for weddings as well. Also on the Wailua River is the famous Wailua Falls, an eighty-foot ballet of water!  The falls are best seen from the road, just a short trip from Lihue. You may recognize them from the opening sequence of the television series Fantasy Island.

Luscious beaches dot the coastline of Kauai. The north shore drive is dotted with some very beautiful beaches such as Anini Beach,  Lumahai Beach,  the crescent-shaped Hanalei Beach, the Tunnels Beach with its golden sands, and Kee Beach. For the ultimate experience in sunning, sailing and swimming, you need to be at Kalapaki Beach, located on Kauai's "Coconut Coast" near Lihue.  The beach area has food outlets, equipment rentals, and shopping opportunities as well.

If you want to be in one of the safest and most beautiful beaches in all of Kauai, head to the Poipu Beach Park. The beach is popular among Hawaiian monk seals too! Don't forget to visit the Spouting Horn, the famous geyser located on the south shore near Poipu. There are also miles of beaches on Kauai's western shore, including Kekaha and Polihale beaches, with some great views of Ni'ihau.
